Giving + Donations
There may be times in your life when you’ll be able to offer different types of gifts to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, below are all the ways you can give.
Online Donation
You can easily offer a one time donation or set up your recurring gift and indicate which ministry you’d like to support
Mail in donation
Mail offerings to:
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
19030 8th Ave S, Seatac, WA 98148
Donor Advised Funds (DAF)
DAFs allow contributions to be immediately tax deductible, grow tax free in the fund, and can be disbursed to the charity of your choice at any time. For example, you could make a three-year donation to a DAF, receive the tax deduction all in the current year, and distribute contributions to the charity over the next three years.
Life Insurance
Your life insurance policy can be a gift to the church. The church would be named as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. The donor receives a charitable income tax deduction based on the lesser of the policy’s fair market value or the net premiums paid at the time of payout.
Securities
A gift of appreciated securities such as stocks or bonds can provide attractive benefits. An outright gift of long-term appreciated securities (securities held for more than a year) avoids capital gains taxes and, in most cases, the donor may claim a charitable income tax deduction equal to the market value of the securities.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
For those over 70.5 on or after the date of the gift, you are able to make QCDs by making a transfer directly from your IRA to a charity of your choice. This QCD counts towards satisfying any RMD requirement the IRA holder may have.
Estate Gifting Options
A will is essential if you wish to make a bequest to benefit the church.
Some options include:
Percentage Bequest: giving a predetermined percentage of your estate to the church.
Contingent Bequest: if your named beneficiaries do not survive you, then the assets are, instead, given to the church.
Specific Bequest: determining a specific amount of money or a specific asset to leave to the church.
Residual Bequest: the church receives the remainder of the estate after other defined gifts, taxes, and expenses have been paid.
